DIY Umrah from Bangladesh: Visa Routes, Nusuk Steps & Budget Checks

Choose a conditional Umrah visa route from Bangladesh, check the published 1448H dates and follow the application-to-permit sequence. Includes Package Visa conditions, source limits and a historical ten-day budget—not a live quote. Official instructions reviewed 19 October 2026; personal app flows not tested.
Who this guide is for: Bangladeshi passport holders planning Umrah from Dhaka who want to choose an eligible visa route, know what to arrange before paying and keep application, visa and permit steps in the right order.
Quick Answer As checked on 19 October 2026, plan around three conditional visa-route categories: Standard Umrah Visa through direct Nusuk or an authorized external provider; an eligible airline stopover; or an eligible tourist-visa route. DIY does not mean every visa is sold separately or approval is automatic [1–4, 6–10]. Check eligibility and season first, complete biometrics when the application requests them, then check the issued visa before visitor registration and separate permit booking [4–5, 15–16].
This guide checks published official instructions, not a completed visa application or a traveller's authenticated app. The BDT 1,16,000–1,32,000 per-person reference below is the existing 14 October 2026 estimate for ten days with four family members sharing; it has not been re-priced. Use the quote-input worksheet on our Umrah hub for your own current basket.
1. Is DIY Umrah the same process as Fard Hajj? No. An Umrah, tourist or stopover visa is not a Hajj permit. Bangladesh Hajj registration, packages and Saudi Hajj permits belong to the separate Hajj process; use the dedicated Hajj registration guide and official Bangladesh portal [11].
Do not plan around a Hajj cutoff copied into an Umrah article. The separate Hajj review records a September deadline conflict between the portal banner and dated circulars, which is not resolved here. The retained SPA notice concerns 1447H/2026 Hajj restrictions, not proof of every 1448H/2027 rule [12]. Check the applicable current Saudi restrictions before travel.
2. Which of the three visa-route categories fits your case? Pathway 1: Standard Saudi Umrah Visa — direct Nusuk or an external provider The Ministry's 20 August 2025 announcement describes direct overseas applications through Nusuk Umrah as well as accredited agents. Bangladesh appears in the nationality and residence lists reopened on 19 October 2026. Registration is not approval or proof that a particular visa-only checkout is available [1–2].
Read the current offer, not just the launch announcement. Nusuk's terms define individual packages as multiple services and say target countries and services can change. For the external-agent channel, the Ministry FAQ says an Umrah visa cannot be issued without accommodation and transport services [3–4]. Before paying, verify the provider through official channels and obtain the exact services, suppliers, total, payment milestones and cancellation/refund terms in writing. Do not assume a refundable visa or an instant refund.
Pathway 2: An eligible airline stopover of up to 96 hours A stopover is a short stay within an onward itinerary, not a ten-day Umrah route. Saudia's checked instructions put the visa application inside flight booking and require a passport with at least six months' validity, an onward ticket and the destination visa/residence permission where required. Final admission remains subject to passport control [6–7].
Read your airline's actual checkout before purchase. Saudia says visa, service, medical and insurance costs are calculated under MOFA rules; Visit Saudi's advertised line-item examples are not your guaranteed payable total. Do not add a free hotel or guaranteed processing time to the plan. If using another carrier, verify that carrier's own current itinerary and application conditions. The dedicated stopover guide covers this shorter trip separately [6–7].
Pathway 3: An eligible tourist-visa route, including Package Visa Bangladesh is not on the nationality-only eVisa list reopened on 19 October 2026. Visit Saudi separately names Bangladeshi passport holders for Package Visa through approved tourism providers. This is a tourist sub-route, not a fourth category and not an unrestricted visa-only purchase [8–9].
The checked Package Visa FAQ requires confirmed round-trip flights and accommodation in a Ministry-licensed hotel rated at least four stars. It publishes a package minimum of SAR 4,000 per adult for the first two days combined, plus SAR 1,000 for each consecutive day. These are dated published conditions, not a quote for your family or a BDT conversion. Confirm the current offer, total, inclusions and refund terms before payment; do not compare it with the old budget reference as if the baskets match [8].
What do the published foreign-visa and residence rules actually say? The Ministry of Tourism's English Tourist Visa Regulations, Article 6(2), and its announcement reported by SPA on 12 June 2023 describe exceptions for people whose nationality is not on the standard list. Reopened on 19 October 2026, these sources distinguish the following documents; the retrieved PDF does not establish its latest revision date [19–20]: - US, UK or Schengen visa: Article 6(2)(b) specifies a valid tourist or business visa, used at least once to enter the country granting it. A visa that has never been used is not what this provision describes. Do not assume a student or work visa qualifies under this tourist/business category [19–20]. - US, UK or EU residence: Article 6(2)(c) specifies permanent residence. Do not treat every temporary residence permit as permanent residence. The June 2023 announcement describes both advance eVisa access and visa-on-arrival provisions; those are separate application methods, not a visa already issued to you [19–20]. - Accompanying family: the regulation includes first-degree relatives coming with the qualifying visa or permanent-residence holder. Confirm each traveller's own application and accompanying-person requirements; this is not one shared family visa [19]. - GCC residence: this is a separate category, not GCC citizenship or a GCC tourist visa. The retrieved PDF mentions at least three months' residence-visa validity and a profession condition, while an SPA report dated 2 May 2023 describes GCC-resident eVisas without specific professions. Do not apply the PDF's occupation wording as a verified current restriction or assume GCC residence alone grants visa on arrival. Confirm the current route and residence-validity requirements through the official checker [10, 19, 21].
Any tourist route used for Umrah remains subject to visa terms, permits and season restrictions; it does not authorize Hajj [5, 9, 12, 15–16, 19].
3. Which season and entry window apply to your trip? The Ministry's published 1448H Umrah calendar was reopened on 19 October 2026. It gives 9 March 2027 as final Umrah visa issuance, 23 March 2027 as final Umrah pilgrim entry and 7 April 2027 as final departure. These dates are for that Umrah season, not a substitute for Hajj registration or a universal expiry date for every tourist visa [5].
Before choosing travel dates, check for a later Ministry notice and read your own visa's validity, entry count and permitted stay. A general season deadline does not extend an earlier personal visa expiry. Do not describe Umrah as unrestricted year-round or commit to non-refundable travel before resolving a route/season mismatch [3, 5].
4. What should you do before paying, during application and after visa issue? Use the sequence below as a decision checklist, not an application approval promise. Package routes may require travel services during application; obtain their actual prerequisites and cancellation terms rather than assuming that every flight can wait until visa issue [3, 7–8]. If paying online, first check international e-commerce access and current limits with your bank; the dual-currency-card guide explains the Bangladesh-side preparation.
Step 1: Confirm eligibility, season and applicable health instructions. - Use your real passport, residence and visa category. Check the Ministry season calendar and seek the applicable current-season MOH requirements for your origin and circumstances. Do not substitute a historical PDF for current health instructions [5, 8–10, 13–14].
Step 2: Verify the provider and price the required arrangements before payment. - Get the actual package/application prerequisites and written inclusions, total and cancellation terms. Compare date-specific flights, baggage and transit documents. For hotels, verify the exact address, room occupancy, access route and any shuttle terms with the property. No neighbourhood name or booking estimate guarantees those details [1–4, 7–8].
Step 3: Apply through the selected official channel and complete requested biometrics. - Follow the application sequence and complete Saudi Visa Bio when that application requires it. The Ministry FAQ names Bangladesh for electronically issued Umrah-visa biometrics; it does not establish a universal after-visa task for every tourist or stopover traveller. Use the Nusuk/biometrics guide for the separate procedure and privacy cautions [4].
Step 4: Check the issued visa before registering as a Nusuk visitor. - Match the traveller, passport details, validity, entry count and permitted stay to the trip. The Ministry FAQ says an overseas visitor can register with a valid visa. Use the visitor route appropriate to your status; a package-platform account is not the same as a permit account or approval [2–4].
Step 5: Arrange separate Umrah and Rawdah permits as applicable. - Use the official services and only available appointments. An Umrah permit is not a Rawdah appointment. Follow the booking's current confirmation, entry-code and reporting instructions; the specialist Nusuk guide covers the dated published Rawdah procedure. Neither a visa nor an account guarantees a slot [15–16].
Step 6: Reconfirm the trip and check access to your documents before departure. - Check flights, transit and baggage, hotel/transport confirmations and provider support contacts. Keep secure offline copies as backup, but open the issued permit on the phone/network you will actually use. A saved image is not a guarantee of entry. Never share credentials, biometrics or usable permit QR codes with URAL or unofficial helpers [3, 15–16].
5. How should you plan flights, hotels and Makkah–Madinah transport? A Dhaka–Jeddah outbound and Madinah–Dhaka return itinerary may reduce backtracking, but compare the same dates, baggage, connections and change terms before choosing it; this guide has no matched fare basket proving savings. Use the flight-strategy guide as a checklist, not a live fare quote. For hotels, get the exact property address and route to the gate your family will use, room-sharing basis, accessibility and shuttle details in writing. Use the hotel/rail guide for the detailed room, access and transport checks; it is not proof of a particular property's services.
The HHR official tariff reopened on 19 October 2026 lists Economy base fares of SAR 162 for Makkah–Madinah and SAR 65 for King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA)–Makkah, before VAT and fees. The operator says the actual ticket price varies by date, train occupancy and other factors. Read the final checkout rather than converting this tariff into an invented BDT trip cost [17].
The checked HHR baggage page allows one large item up to 25 kg and 65 × 55 × 35 cm, plus one hand item. Measure the bags you will bring, check the current ticket/operator terms and include station transfers in your own transport quote. Airline baggage allowance is not proof that the same bags can travel by train [18].
6. Which health instructions and permits still need personal checks? The MOH index and linked Umrah PDF were reopened on 19 October 2026. The PDF's first page explicitly says 1447H (2026). It does not establish the requirements for your 1448H trip. Obtain the applicable current-season and country-of-origin instructions from MOH and your official application/provider before travel; discuss personal vaccination, medication or fitness questions with a qualified clinician. An unverified newer document is not evidence that no health requirements apply [13–14].
Keep visa approval, the Nusuk account, Umrah permit and Rawdah appointment separate. We have not tested your authenticated account, personal eligibility, biometric capture, network or gate admission. Use the point-of-action checks in the Nusuk guide and current official support if something fails; do not create fake applications or reserve practice slots [3–4, 15–16].
7. How should you build your BDT budget? The single table preserves the existing 14 October 2026 planning reference. It was not re-priced on 19 October 2026, and the old component amounts were not a reconciled live booking basket. Treat it as historical context—not today's offer, a guaranteed total or proof that DIY is cheaper.
10-day DIY Umrah planning estimate
The family-of-four-sharing reference carried forward on 14 October 2026 is retained; it was not re-priced on 19 October 2026.
| Planning item | Published figure / status | Basis and limitation |
|---|---|---|
| DIY Umrah total (per person) | BDT 1,16,000–1,32,000 | 10 days; family of four sharing. Inherited planning estimate, not a live quote. |
| Comparison with an agency package | No matched quote captured | Do not infer savings without an itemized quote on the same dates, duration, room occupancy, flight and inclusions. |
For a current calculation, open the quote-input worksheet on /umrah. Enter whole-party BDT totals from dated quotes for flights, visa/insurance/services, each city's accommodation, transport, meals, extras and contingency; mark a category zero only when it really is included or not applicable. Avoid adding hotel or transport twice when bundled into a package. The worksheet does not fetch market prices.
No matched, itemized agency quote is available for the same dates, duration, four-sharing, flight baggage, visa, nights, meals, transfers and cancellation conditions. Request both baskets on that basis before comparing. Neither route is automatically cheaper; different visa/package minimums must not be hidden in a savings claim.
8. What should you check before leaving Dhaka? - Reopen the applicable visa/season and health instructions, and check for later notices. - Match every traveller's issued documents to the itinerary and permitted dates. - Confirm hotel room occupancy/access, transport, baggage and transit documentation with the actual providers. - Check Nusuk account access, issued permits, confirmation deadlines and the phone/network you will use. - Keep receipts, written service/refund terms, secure document backups and official support contacts accessible. - Follow the linked specialist guide for the task you are completing; a green website build does not verify your booking.
9. Frequently Asked Questions
Can I apply for an Umrah visa directly through Nusuk from Bangladesh?
The Ministry describes direct applications and Bangladesh is in the signup lists checked on 19 October 2026. Check current service/package availability for your case; registration does not guarantee visa approval or a visa-only checkout [1–3].
Does an external Umrah agent issue a visa without accommodation and transport?
The Ministry FAQ says an external agent cannot issue an Umrah visa without accommodation and transport services. Obtain the services, total and cancellation terms in writing [4].
Can I use a tourist or stopover visa for Fard Hajj?
No. Those visas are not Hajj permits. Use the separate Bangladesh registration process and current Saudi Hajj instructions; historical 1447H rules are not automatically 1448H requirements [11–12].
Is the 10-day DIY Umrah figure a current booking quote?
No. It is the retained 14 October 2026 ten-day/four-sharing reference and was not re-priced on 19 October. Use dated matched quotes and the hub worksheet for your own calculation; the old range proves no agency saving.
Where do I book Umrah and Rawdah permits?
Use the official Ministry/Nusuk service for each task. They are separate appointments with live availability and current booking instructions. Check confirmation and entry-code access rather than treating an account or initial reservation as guaranteed admission [15–16].
